Motivation Statement


During this semester, our jewellery design degree students traveled to Guangzhou with teacher Sandra from August 4th, 2018 to August 9th, 2018. The purpose of this Guangzhou tour is to:


1, Experience the culture

2, Visit the jewelry processing plant

3, Market for the purchase of jewelry raw materials 4. Visit various galleries, museums and exhibitions 5, Visit companies and schools related to jewelry



Research and Prapantion


Located on the subtropical coast of Guangzhou, The Tropic of Cancer passes through the north and belongs to the maritime subtropical Monsoon climate. It is characterized by warm


and rainy, abundant light and heat, long summer and short frost period. During the whole year, the Temperature rose in March, and it returned to Nantian. The rainy Season from April to June was affected by the intersection of cold and warm air And monsoon trough. It was rainy, from July To September, controlled by subtropical high, hot And hot weather, and many typhoons. October and November are sunny and dry autumns with moderate temperatures and a cool winter from December to February.








In the long history, there are many attractions Such as the Tomb of Nanyue King, Guangxiao Temple, Zhenhai Tower, Liuyi Temple, Nanhai Temple, Wuxian Temple, Huaisheng Temple, Chenjiatun, Sacred Heart Hall, Sanyuan Palace, etc. It is a witness to the Historical and cultural city of Guangzhou. After the integration of Chinese and foreign cultures, a unique Lingnan culture has been formed: Lingnan School, Lingnan Architecture, Lingnan Garden, Lingnan Bonsai, Guangdong Music, Cantonese Opera, Cantonese Cuisine, Cantonese, and Urban Landscape, Living Customs, etc., all reflect the style of Lingnan Culture.

Cantonese cuisine


- Cantonese cuisine is one of the four major cuisines in China. It is developed from the specialties of Guangzhou, Chaozhou and Dongjiang. It is a late starter, but it has far-reaching influence. Most of the Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong, Macao and countries around the world are Mainly Cantonese cuisine.


- Cantonese, originated in the Guangdong-Guangdong region (Guangdong, Guangxi), is also a dialect with a dominant position in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao, so it is called Cantonese or vernacular. Since ancient times, the two mountains and rivers have been connected and the humanities are connected.


Cantonese cuisine pays attention to the length of each cuisine, the cooking techniques are varied and varied, and the materials are singular and extensive. In cooking, it is mainly fried and fried. It has both simmering, frying and roasting. It is clear and not light, fresh and not vulgar, tender and not raw, oil is not greasy, and there are “five nourishments”(fragrance, pine, soft). , fat, thick), “six flavors” (sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, salty, fresh). Seasonal, strong summer and autumn are still light, winter and spring seeking rich.




Weather


Guangzhou is located on the subtropical coast. The hottest month of the year is July, with an average monthly temperature of 28.7 °C. It is a subtropical monsoon climate with warm and rainy climate, abundant light and heat, long summer and short frost period. The annual average temperature is 20-22 degrees Celsius, which is one of the regions with the smallest annual temperature difference in China.

Traffic:


Guangzhou road and traffic system, especially the viaduct and the inner and outer loops, highways are very developed. However, due to too many private cars and low road capacity, traffic congestion has become one of the most common problems in Guangzhou. In terms of public transportation, there are various modes of transportation such as subways, express buses, buses, trolley buses, and trams in Guangzhou. Guangzhou long-distance buses go directly to Hong Kong, and busy long-distance buses pick up passengers from Hong Kong at different passenger points in the city every year. Guangzhou is also one of the most important railway and aviation hub cities in China. Passengers can travel to major cities in China by train or plane, and international routes to and from Guangzhou and abroad are spread all over the world.
